The Beta Chi chapter of Kappa Delta was installed on May, 5 1951. We currently have 185 members who serve in a variety of roles that help the chapter function. Our chapter is led by 10 executive council officers who are elected annually and a variety of appointed officers. Our members excel academically and participate in campus activities that improve their leadership skills and expand their knowledge. Throughout our time in KD, our members learn the value of philanthropy as they take part in our local and national charitable efforts. In addition to our philanthropic activities, Beta Chi excels in the classroom, consistently having on of the highest GPAs in UNC's Greek System.
Our chapter holds a variety of social events, typically one date function and two mixers per month. These events generally have a fun theme, that allows the members to dress up, whether in their fanciest attire or in a silly costume. Annually, our chapter holds a variety of educational programs that teach the members about personal presence, attitude, communication, enlarging our world, and a variety of other topics.
Our chapter also prides itself in having a strong sisterhood, holding monthly events like movie nights that allow members to bond. The girls have a KD "family" of bigs and little sisters that help guide each other through the different years and stages at UNC.
UNC is home to 10 Panhellenic sororities and Beta Chi prides ourself in being one of the most competitive on campus. This past year we received Panhellenic’s Most Campus Involvement Award, Panhellenic’s Highest GPA Award, Panhellenic’s Outstanding Philanthropic Activities Award, Kappa Delta’s Academic Excellence Award, Kappa Delta’s Recognition Award, Chapter Advisory Board Award of Excellence, and House Corporation Award of Excellence.
